When I was a child, we unfortunately didn't get a chance to go on many family vacations. But one destination we were occasionally able to visit was Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.

We moved to the Savannah, Ga area when I was 7, so I think our first trip was a few months after that. I don't remember how, but even at that young age I was aware of both Disney resorts, and had wanted to go for quite some time.
I believe we visited the Magic Kingdom park our first time down. Our trips were never that long as I recall. Just 2 to 3 days at a time. Fortunately, our close proximity to Florida meant that we could make multiple trips over the years, visiting both Epcot and the Magic Kingdom.
To a child, Disney is truly wondrous! The characters, the food, and the overall fun atmosphere is something that I just can't describe! I was so excited for each one of our short visits.
Over the years, I was able to experience pretty much every attraction at both parks. Sadly, we never made it to the MGM park or the Animal Kingdom, which is actually pretty new. My favorites are the Haunted Mansion, Space Mountain, and Pirates of the Caribbean.
Now that I am a parent, I can't wait until I can share the Disney magic with Sara! And today, the Disney Empire has expanded so much! Besides Disneyland in California, and Walt Disney World in Florida, there is also the Aulani resort in Hawaii, the Disney Cruise Line with a wide variety of destinations, and a Disney resort in both Hilton Head Island, South Carolina and Vero Beach, Fla, not to mention several international resorts!
With so many options, there are so many vacations we can plan over the years, and each one will be a totally different experience from the last! I'm sure Sara will be so excited to be a part of the magic, just like I was!
