Baking Unicorn Cupcakes

I love baking treats whenever I can. Cupcakes are some of my favorites to make, because they're quick to whip up, and are a great sized little dessert for any occasion! I recently was made aware of the cutest baking decorations, sold by Illusive Supplies, that were perfect! They consisted of a set of cupcake wraps and unicorn themed decor, enough for two dozen cupcakes, and also some cute unicorn decor for a cake, which will be perfect for Sara's upcoming birthday!

Last weekend, I decided to make some cupcakes, and they turned out so cute! I used fun-fetti mix, and made the prettiest rainbow frosting. I used the wraps and unicorn inserts, and I was so pleased with how beautiful they turned out! They were almost too pretty to eat! Almost...

Sara loved them, and we snacked on them all week! I just made my cupcakes on a random weekend, but I was thinking that they would be perfect for birthday parties, or a special event, like celebrating Spring, or a baby shower too! They were so adorable!

The cake decorations that were included with the packet are very well made! The horn and ear inserts are completely reusable, and will make for a beautiful birthday cake this Summer, so I'm saving them for then.

I would definitely recommend these decorations for a special occasion, or just any occasion, as they are just so darn cute!

Welcome May!

I love the first week of May for so many reasons! Our wedding anniversary, The Kentucky Derby, Star wars Day, Cinco De Mayo, and the begging of warmer weather all in one!

Mark and I were married on the 4th, or "May the Fourth Be With You!" aka Star Wars Day! We'll never forget that one! We celebrated by both taking the day off work, and visiting our favorite movie theater, iPic for a screening of Infinity War! I've so been looking forward to this movie! I love the Avengers movies, and the Guardians of the Galaxy movies, and finally, these two were going to meet! I won't divulge any spoilers, but if you love the Marvel movies, and haven't seen it yet, get to it! It's really good!

Saturday was both Kentucky Derby Day and Cinco de Mayo. I always look forward to heading to Emerald Downs for the special Derby event that they hold every year! Everyone dresses up, and dons an over the top hat, and they have live racing, as well as showcasing the actual Kentucky Derby. The best part is that you can place bets on the race, and drink Mint Juleps in the official Derby glass!
Looking Derby ready in my dress and hat!

She loves pizza!

My little Princess!

This was Sara's second Derby Day. We took her last year, but she had even more fun this year! We let her run around and play with other kids who were there, and she looked so cute in her little green dress and hat! She enjoyed watching the horses, and playing in the grass and sand. It's an event that we'll enjoy years to come!

She really enjoys seeing the horses!
We usually go out to our favorite Mexican restaurant for dinner and margaritas for Cinco de Mayo, but because we were at the race track into the late afternoon, and Sara and the rest of us were tired, we decided to skip it this year, but I made some delicious margaritas at home that evening. But we always like to celebrate the day!

Sunday was a relaxing day at home! Our whole community always has their annual garage sale over the first weekend in May, so I spent some time checking out what was being offered while I took Sara to play at the park. Since it was so warm, we also pulled out her little pool, and let her splash around in the back yard. She had so much fun!

These long warm days have me so excited for the coming days and of course, Summer! I always look forward to this month, and I'm gearing up for sunny skies and tons of fun!

Check out my little video that I made about our weekend!

Babies R Us is Closing, and I'm Sad

I'm sure you've heard by now that the Toys R Us Company is closing down for good. This is really sad news to so many around the country-and world. I remember growing up in the 80's and hearing that all to familiar jingle on television: "I don't want to grow up, I'm a Toys R Us kid.." Yeah, we all know it! I remember what a treat it actually was to drive into town and go to the big toy store, and even more of a treat when I was allowed to actually get something!

Over the years as I became an adult, I didn't feel the need to visit Toys R Us that often, but when I became pregnant, I started a relationship with their counterpart store, Babies R Us. I absolutely loved going in and shopping for all of the baby stuff! There were so many things to look at, I didn't know where to begin!

I loved shopping for all of the little outfits for Sara, and the Koala Kids brand that they carry is the best! They even have the boutique for fine and unique outfits for special occasions. They also have Disney, Carters, Osh Kosh, and so many other great brands! Much of Sara's wardrobe has come from Babies R Us.

We also got her nursery furniture set there. The nursery displays were just beautiful! And the staff was so helpful in getting everything squared away for us for shipping and delivery.

My registry was through Babies R Us, and they had a great program where you got a percentage of what was spent back on a gift card to use later, and I totally did! I also signed up to their Rewards Program, because since Sara was born, we have made a stop at least once a month to pick up supplies and get her a toy or three! Speaking of supplies...most of our everyday items from her diaper pail to her potty chair, and so much more have come from Babies R Us.

Now that Sara's a toddler, she loves going to the store and running around, checking everything out! She loves the rocking chairs, the little toddler beds, and of course, the toys! She always gets a new surprise when we visit.

Which brings me to the sad realization that these fun trips to Babies R Us will soon come to an end. The staff has told us that they may be around until June. But the last time we went, about three weeks ago, the shelves were pretty picked over. It's sad that I won't be able to come and get tons of cute outfits all in one stop. It's sad that Sara won't get to come and try out all of the furniture, and shop for a new toy with Daddy. It's sad that she's had all of these fun outings there with us already, but she's too young to remember them when she gets older. And it's sad that she will never hear the all familiar jingle on TV, and know the joy and excitement of being a Toys R Us kid.

How To Book a Disney Cruise

Well, we did it again! Cruise life has been calling, and we listened! We've just booked another cruise on Disney Cruise Line for Summer ...
